Teambuilding 2007 - Sofitel JB

I just finished the Iron Man Triathlon. Or at least that is how my body feels like now. Just came back from teambuilding yesterday and my whole body is aching now. This morning's mass was really uncomfortable. The muscles around my thigh was aching badly and with each kneel, I feel them crying out in protest. But I was glad I was still able to go through the whole mass.

We left for JB on Friday morning and started the 1.5 days of teambuilding. I actually went with a heavy heart and was feeling apprehensive cos there were a lot of things which we haven't settled for the wedding and I wanted to settle them as soon as possible. Moreover, weekends are precious to Des and me and the teambuilding will take up more than half a Saturday.

So off we went after Leon took us for 'lor mee breakfast'. In the coach, everyone was in good spirit save for a few of us and there were much chatting. Chum and I took a rest and before long, we reached Sofitel.

Then we started on our lectures and though the topics were interesting, we could do with more activities. Luckily the programme was quite ok most of the time and the time passed quickly. Before the day ended, we went out of the function room and started with the water games. Those games that we played in the function rooms paled in comparison to the water games.

First it was water bomb and we had a good time with that. Once the game was completed, all hell broke loose and we used the bombs that were left over to throw at will. Chum got hit quite hard and the right side of her face was swollen immediately. The impact must have been very great cos the swell really did come on immediately and Chum said her vision was blurred. She also had a cut on the lower lip.

After that, we went to the pool and started another round of water games. Boy, was that tiring! We had to go through different stages and had to make a raft to go through the pool to get packets of clues. On the last leg, everyone was burned out and I had to make it back myself! Warau! I was like going to break lor! And my team was the last to reach back. I saw that and just couldn't give up and let my team lose. So I hung on and I think the bodyguard took pity on me and/or didn't want anything to happen (in case I drown) so he helped me along.

Although we reached back last, we actually came in second. Great team work!

I made a mistake by taking in excessive amount of water at one shot. That made me feel like trhowing up. And I realised how unfit I am. I was panting damn hard and my body felt like it was giving way. Perhaps I really should go jogging with Des. I'm still thinking about it and considering the possibilities.

Then we finally checked into the room and it was a pleasant surprise. It was much better than I expected. The bathroom was nice, though simple. It came with a bathtub (which I never got the chance to use) and a separate shower stall and toilet. The room even came with a balcony. From my side of the building, we had an obstructed view of the golf course at Palm Resort (the one that Des goes for his golf game..what a coincidence!). It was nothing fantastic but lots of greens and seeing that made me feel good.

Dinner was served in a Chinese restaurant and the fare was simple. But we were all hungry and if the expectations weren't high, there was nothing to complain about. The standard Chinese food. I didn't wanna order beer in case it wasn't allowed and things got back to the boss. But when HR asked if we wanted to order some, we didn't stand on ceremony and went ahead. Since they were the ones who asked, I guess Boss wouldn't blame us for that.

Even if we didn't get to order the beer, we would still have enjoyed alcohol. Cos we brought our own stash from home. Haha.... But it wasn't a heavy drinking session. We were too tired after the day's activities and were just enjoying the company of one another, watching tv. But cos we didn't have any mixers, we had to call Room Service like 4 times and we were guessing that they must have been cursing us for making them work. So we ordered some soft drinks and food to eat. But before long, we were all sleepy.

The second day was the more physical one. We had a short lecture by Mr Khor and went straight out for physical activities. Balancing act, climbing wall, tyre, etc.... All of us were just out to win the game. Besides these, I think the highlight was Paintball. But before that, we had to go for 'A' Walk and boy, that required lots of energy man!

Paintball was fun. I've always liked games like these and was glad that I wasn't shot. I saw the bruises on some of my colleagues and frankly, I wouldn't want that on my body. It was really fun. Luckily we won the first round and had the chance to have a go at it again to fight for the top spot. And we won! Haha!!!! We're the champions!!!

After Paintball, we had to rush to pack and check-out as they could only accord complimentary late check-out till 1330 hours. We finished the activities only at 1315 hours and had to rush to freshen up and meet for lunch. Lunch was served in the Japanese restaurant and although the miso soup tasted like miso and salt were free, the overall lunch was still fine.

Through the whole teambuilding, we indeed discovered a lot of things that we otherwise wouldn't have known about each other. Our 'hidden talents', so to speak. It was a good trip and although I was unwilling to go, I enjoyed myself and found the trip too short. All we brought back with us are fond memories and of course, an aching body!

Footprints In The Sand

One night a man had a dream.
He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Scenes from his life flashed across the sky and he noticed
two sets of footprints in the sand, one belonging to him and the other to the Lord.

When the last scene of his life had flashed before him,he recalled that
at the lowest and saddest times of his lifethere was only one set of footprints.
Dismayed, he asked, "Lord, you said that once I decided to

follow you, you'd walk with me all the way.
I don't understand why, when I needed you most, you would leave me."

The Lord replied, "My precious child. I love you and
I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering when you saw
only one set of footprints...
That was when I carried you."

Life's Painful Lesson

Just came back from church and lunch and boy! must I say the lunch was so utterly disappointing. There's a new stall that opened in the coffeeshop near our place that sells Hokkian Mee, Char Kway Teow and Carrot Cake. So I decided to give it a try since I'm quite sick of the food anyway. What a big mistake that turned out to be! I ordered Hokkien Mee and when the plate of noodles was served to me, I already knew it sucked. The oil they used must be very dirty and recycled many times cos there were black residues all over. Then there was way too much gravy (almost like the same amount as there is for hor fun). And it tasted like anything but Hokkien Mee. If they had promoted it like it's some special noodles cooked in their secret home-made sauce, I wouldn't have been so mad. If you dunno how to cook it, then dun sell it lah! Although I am damn full now, I feel so dissatisfied lor. And now I can smell my neighbour making braised pork. Makes my mouth water cos it smells damn nice and it accentuated all the more my disappointing lunch. Sigh...
Anyways, enough of the noodles. Went for a drink with Her (name changed to conceal her identity) and we had a good, long talk. It's amazing how similar our life's experiences were. This is the first time she opened herself so much to me and I really felt for her. Throughout the whole conversation, it's like my old wounds were being peeled open layer by layer. The scenes were so vivid it felt almost like how it was when it first took place. But having said that, I could tell the difference between then and now. I felt stronger and there was a sense of achievement and the 'been there done that' kinda feeling. Not in the bragging sense but the 'I-have-come-a-long-way-and-crossed-that-hurdle' kinda way. It actually made me feel old. And when I thought about it, I realised what a fool I was. But it was in being a fool that I grew to be wiser. What an irony; what an oxymoron. But I realised, that's life. I learned the oxymoron of life through the hard way.

I was just telling Her that I realised I dun really have a lot of friends to call my own. Acquaintances I've got loads. But true friends? Not that many. I was thinking of my funeral and wondering how many ppl will actually come because they want to and not because they have to. Besides family, I think the number of friends who will come because they wanna walk with me through this last part if my life's journey will actually be within my 10 fingers. The rest will just be there out of obligation. Those who will shed tears for me are only that handful. And I wonder what these close friends will say about me in my eulogy. I've always wondered about that part cos that will be a testimony of how I have lived my life and what I have stood for in my journey on earth. I've even thought of how I want my wake to look like (e.g. colour scheme and all) and the song I want to be played when I am lying in that wooden box waiting to be pushed into the fire to be burned and returned to ash. Oh no, I'm getting morbid. Better leave it as that. Dun wanna get into that mood. I've been there too many times to know what will happen when I allow myself to indulge in thoughts such as these.

Back to my drinking session. Before that, Chum, we can go to this new place at Marina Square instead of Paul's. There's smoking tables and it's much quieter! I love it. Great place to talk and chill out. That's more my kinda place, rather than Linkin Park concert.

Anyways, that conversation brought me down to earth. I realised I've been floating in my own life with hubby and forgotten about the feelings of hurt and betrayal. It brought me back down seriously! I have to get in touch with all these feelings to maintain my humanity man. I can't keep living life thinking that it's a bed of roses. Else when 'tragedy' strikes I will not know how to handle it anymore. I'm proud of what I've overcome in my life thus far. But I wanna use these experiences and lessons to help others. Not forget about them. I must keep in mind that while my life is going smoothly now, I have to think of others too. Their lives may not be as rosy as mine. And I really thank God for the people around me. Last time, when things happen, I will have nobody to call and shout for help. And that's how I learned to deal with life myself. I had nobody there for me. I wallowed in self-pity and sank to the very bottom. My life was not worth living. But I picked myself up and got out of depression. All by myself (Chum, that's why I like that song too). But now, I know who to call when I need help and I know they will be there for me. And Chum, I know you'll be one of them. I know you'll be there for me. Though I dun express it much, I really do appreciate having a friend in you. I love you loads!

Shall not elaborate too much about my conversation with Her. But in case you are reading this, I want you to know that you can make it through this. It is never easy and you feel that you can never get out of this. But trust me, you will. Your rainbow will come one day. We dunno when. But this period and what you are going through now will make you a better and stronger person. When you have hit rock bottom, there's no other way to go but up. It makes sense, doesn't it? Imagine bouncing a ball on the floor. When it hits the floor (which is the bottom), it will have to go up. There's no other way to go. God shows us all these facts through the dialy happenings of life. You just have to look harder and go deeper to find out. I was resentful of all that life have thrown me and I wanted to die. But now I am glad that I have gone through them. These are life's lesson that you need to learn in order to go through life as a strong individual. If you are not tested, you'll never be strengthened. Always remember this, God will not give you more than you can take. Have faith in yourself and more importantly, have faith in God.

Infuriated & Disappointed

If you dun wanna do it, then just say so. Dun give me excuses that are seemingly valid to make them look like reasons. There's always been complaints said in jest about the distance and how much shorter the distance would be if not for me. Not forgetting about the remarks about punctuality. And now this. Forget it. I'll look for my own alternative.

A New Account?

Today is quite a tiring day. Think I didn't have enough rest the past few days and the sales calls are taking a toll on me. This only goes to show how unhealthy and unfit I am. A few weeks of sales call and my body is already protesting.

This morning we learned that the hotel has received a lead from an account. And lo and behold, it's a new account! We actually received a lead from Warner Blooders! I almost couldn't believe it. How can anybody pronounce Warner Bros. wrongly? But coming from that person, I still find it believable. *faint*

Bought half a dozen of ju zai for chummy last week and she got sick of it. Haha... that's the intention and it turned out well. Chummy has been eating so much and I wanna make her sick of the junk food that she has been taking. And the ploy worked! Went with hubby to buy bread last night and saw a ju zai made in the shape of the zao chai mao (prosperity cat) and I bought it for Chummy. Whenever I see ju zai now, I will think of Chummy. So funny! But she didn't wanna eat that cos she is so sick of ju zai. So she gave it to Ling and Ling likes it. So tonight, I went to buy that for Ling and saw that they have it in others shapes as well. So I bought 3, all in different shapes. Hopefully Ling doesn't get too sick of it cos I want her to eat it. She's losing way too much weight and needs some fattening!

Tomorrow is yet another working day and although time passes very quickly now (cos we need to plan for calls and with each calls, I realised that the time we spend at work is really short), I still look forward to the weekend everyday. Just wanna spend time with hubby doing personal stuff instead of spending time in the office working. I just find that time during the weekend is too short. If only I can stop working.... Sigh....

Efficient & Expensive Weekend

Was on leave last Friday as we had an appointment with HDB to settle the transfer of the flat. And I never did expect the weekend to be so busy and tiring.

After the appointment at HDB, hubby and I went to Taka to shop as we had $500 worth of voucher from the loan that hubby took for the new car. We expected that the trip will be more fruitful for me. Alas, it was hubby who bought more stuff than me. He finally got to buy a Liverpool top (he had been looking for a nice one for the longest time!) and also a pair of leather shoes. Had been bugging him for a long time to get a new pair to replace the current one as it was really old and ugly. Looked like that type that a clueless secondary school boy with no dress sense would wear. The new pair was more 'grown-up' and best of all, it wasn't expensive. But hubby bought me a necklace with a cross cos my old necklace broke. The pendant is quite unique and although I had my reservations about it in the beginning, I've grown to love it.

After that, we decided to go get new lightings for the house as the ones that we have now are pretty dim and really bad for the eyes cos we had to read in dim lights. And most of the times when we had friends over for MJ sessions, friends were always commenting that it's too dark. So we went to Balestier Road where there was a long stretch of shops selling lights. So we decided to start from the first shop and then slowly walk down and compare the products and prices. So we went into the first shop ironically called "Singapore Lighting Mart". Ironic because everyone who works there are Malaysians. haha... But I must say their service is very good. The guy who served us was very patient and humourous. We kept asking him a lot of questions but he showed no signs of frustrations. We saw some designs and hubby caught sight of one which he absolutely loved and wanted to buy, even though it was quite costly. I must admit it was nice and unique. So I didn't stop him and left the decision to him. And guess what! The service was so good, we just purchased our lights from that shop. So much for comparing designs and prices in an area populated by lighting shops. The total damage amounted to quite a bit. Bummer!

After that, we decided to go shop for air-con since it was still early and hubby wanted to settle the stuff for the house fast and get it over with. So we went to IMM where there were a lot of shops selling air-con and as usual, we made our purchase at the first shop! Aren't we such suckers! We just couldn't bring ourselves to go around and shop for prices. Unless of course, the service is damn lousy. But that wasn't the case and we were quite ok with the sales person.
On Saturday, we went for Shyann's birthday party. She's already 2! How time flies. It felt like only recently that Elaine got married. Sigh... Guess none of us can escape the passing of time. We really ain't getting any younger. Elaine's place felt like a childcare centre. So scary! An influx of parents and children. Guess I'll be joining them before long.

Though hubby was so bored he got cranky, I was glad I made the trip cos I wanted to be there for the special moments of the children's lives and I got to spend time with Shane. Such a darling. Even hubby loves him a lot. On the past couple of outings, Shane was hubby's companion and he was always such a good boy. Doesn't fuss about a lot.

After we left the party, hubby and I went to Tanjong Pagar to check out the bridal studios. Amanda tagged along as I thought we could use her experience. But I felt bad having to put her through the search cos I think I knew how she was feeling and what she was thinking about. Can't say I blame her. But I was glad to have her company.
Like Friday, we decided to go to the first shop on the block and enquired about their package. This time round, we DID NOT stop at the first shop, like we usually do. We checked out 3 shops and eliminated one. It was damn tiring lor. We went to only 3 shops and a good part of the afternoon was gone. Glenn joined us mid-way and I was afraid he got bored going from one shop to the next listening to the same thing that doesn't really concern him. But he was good about it and went through the 'suffering' with us.

Hubby and I are considering the second and third shop we went to. The second shop had very nice gowns but photography was just average. The third shop was just the opposite - great photography, average gowns. But I gathered photography is more important than the design of the gown. Afterall, the photographs you get to keep forever; the gown just for that day. And it's not as if the designs were all that bad. They just paled a little in comparison to the second shop. So hubby and I are pretty much set for the third shop. But we didn't quite like the way the sales person at the third shop was trying to hardsell us. But well, I'm a sales person myself. So tough luck. I won't fall for your sales tactics! We found that immensely irritating actually.

And today, we went to IMM again in the hope of settling the cable tv at home. But we didn't manage to do that cos we need to cancel off the existing one first before we could apply for a new one and we couldn't do it at the shop at IMM. So we got the broadband access and yes! I'm finally on broadband!!! After years and years of dial-up. And we finally got the fan that we've been trying to get for the longest time. So the things left to do for the house are the changing room, a new coat of paint, the altar, the dining table as well as the bathrooms. Really had no idea where to set up the altar. Thought of a position but hubby said it wouldn't be nice to have Mother Mary watching us play mahjong all the time (cos the position I had in mind was just in front of the spot where we always play mahjong). So that is one thing we have to figure out.

All in all, we spent a few grands over the weekend and there are more to come. Oh man! Imagine how much more we had to spend if we had gotten an entirely new flat!

The Day Before My Leave

I’ve got a few things to blog about today. First of all, let me announce that I am on leave tomorrow!!! Yippee yah yeah!

Had a crappy morning today. One of my clients called this morning and said we need to arrange for VIP check-in for a couple of guests arriving tonight. They think very easy issit? Just one word and we can have VIP check-in? We need coordination among the departments one lor! But luckily, the client is one of the nicer ones and I am still ok with coordinating the check-in for him. When people are nice to me, I dun mind being nicer to them. But when they are nasty, I can be even nastier. Every dog will have its day and I will certainly wait for that day to come.

For the first time in many days, we went to the canteen for lunch and fortunately, the food was ok. It wasn’t one of the more boring menus of the rotation. After lunch, we went to Suntec City and did some shopping. I bought some doughnuts from Carrefour cos there was no queue. They seemed so sad and pathetic cos the other doughnut shop had a long queue and they had none. So I took pity on them and decided to buy some from them.

Just after lunch, Chummy said she wanna eat pretzel. It was just after lunch and she was already feeling greedy again! Since it was just pretzel, I treated it that she wanted to have some dessert. Then she said she wanted to eat Polar pastries and bubble tea. I was like, ARE YOU PREGNANT! So we went to buy bubble tea but she gave the pastries a miss. Then as she was queuing up for the bubble tea, she saw ju zai (piglet) and wanted to buy that too! I put a stop to it and refused to let her buy the ju zai. I insists that she satisfies her cravings over more days. How can she eat all that in one day?! Aiyo!! I’m gonna control her.

Hubby told me about something that he’s gonna receive soon. I felt so angry when I heard about the proportion of it and got so angry. There was no justice and equality in that! What logic! Piece of crap! But I shan’t discuss it here. Angry though I may be, I still have a sense of diplomacy and decency in me. Shan’t go down to their level. Hmph!

Earthquake Again!

Just as we were leaving the office earlier, we heard something from the GM’s office: “The building is shaking!” Then Chummy confirmed it by saying that she thought her PC shook because she was shaking her leg. So we stopped our work for a while and indeed, the building was shaking. Before long, we were all shutting down our PCs and dropping everything we were doing. The Director of Finance came from her corner of the Executive Office and informed us the building was shaking. So we quickly left the office. Within 5 minutes, the whole office was pitch dark.

When we reached ground level, we saw the streets crowded with people and we knew that evacuation had taken place. My instant suspicion of an earthquake in our neighbouring countries was confirmed when we heard the report on the radio on our way home. But I was wrong on one count. It wasn’t just one earthquake; it was a double quake. I pity the people in these countries. Already the country was not fully developed and the economy not entirely strong. Still, they have to come to terms with natural calamities that destroy what they have fought hard to keep.

With every natural calamity, an awakening of the end of the world dawned on me. God promised He will not wipe out the world using waters again and He gave us His promise in the creation of rainbow. But most of the calamities that were happening now are earthquakes. Does this spell the nearing of the end of the world for us? Nobody knows. Several years on earth may be just one day in Heaven.

Let’s just carry on with our lives, being mindful that we are answerable to the Great I AM when we meet Him.

Lazy Weekend

Went to watch ‘No Reservations’ yesterday and it wasn’t too bad. Although it’s neither action-packed nor had a great storyline, it made for a relaxing good show. It’s the kind of show to watch when you’re feeling lazy and just wanna relax on a weekend. The show is highly predictable, though. So if you’re the type that prefers lots of twists and turns, then I’ll suggest you wait for the DVD instead of watching it in the cinema.

Went to pump petrol at the station next to the driving school after the show and felt kinda nostalgic seeing the school. Afterall, I did spend many hours and much efforts there. Felt kinda sad that I haven’t been going there. But then again, I wouldn’t wanna go back there again. It was really quite excruciating having to go there during the weekends or to rush down from work to attend lessons.

Then I had the craving to go for the Jap buffet at Shenton Way. As usual, hubby obliged. But when we reached there, the restaurant was full and we had to wait for a table. Given that the restaurant was serving buffet, I knew our chances of getting a table were pretty slim. Nonetheless, I was still hopeful. So we waited while hubby read the comics the restaurant provided and I fiddled with the handphone.

After waiting for about 20 minutes, we finally got a table. It was faster than I expected actually. So we sat down and enjoyed a scrumptious dinner. We just kept ordering and ordering and the food was so yummy! The last time I went with hubby, we didn't order the charcoal-grilled chicken wings. Tried it yesterday and it was delicious!!! Now that I’m thinking about it, I feel like going again! But I think I’d better hold my horses. I’m not getting any slimmer. But must find a chance to go eat with Chummy. Getting there will be a little issue, though. Cos I dunno what the road where it's situated is called. It's ok, we can walk to the restaurant from Lau Pa Sat. *drools*

Went to church today and saw Father Richards. Sister, he doesn’t look as stern as you say lah. But I could recognize him right away cos you mentioned about the moustache. The next RCIA course starts next Jan / Feb and without me asking him about it, he volunteered the information. What ‘prophecy’! Haha…. I’m gonna make hubby attend it with me. Shane darling, you gotta wait a little while more okie.

Wat a Boring Day

Attended Anthony Robbins’ seminar today and it’s really total crap. The first part of it was fine cos the speaker was Allan Pease and he touched on the topics of human relationships and communications which I thought were pretty amazing. In fact, I’m inspired to go buy his books. He presented facts to us which we already know in a way that helped us to accept and remember them. The session was too long, though. Towards the end, we were all so thirsty and hungry that we were dying to get out. So we finally took a break and had some bites. Luckily Chummy had the foresight to go buy some food before that. Oh well, she was just hungry in the morning and went to buy food, but didn’t have the chance to eat it. So we had a smoke, ate something and went back in.

The second session started and the man himself – Anthony Robbins – came on. A short while after we started the second session, I thought I was attending a charismatic church service. Felt like it was City Harvest or something. He was asking us to get out of the chairs and move the body and do lots of crappy stuff. Oh well, I didn’t enjoy the session and if you ask me, I feel that it’s just overrated and paying that amount is just dumb. I wouldn’t want to attend it even if it’s free. But I still need my job. So not much choice there.

What he was telling the audience were things we already knew. He was taking what we already knew and elaborating it in an exaggerated tone. What a waste of time and money. Those who came a second time must be damn rich. I learned nothing except to ‘say yes’ and clap. And you must clap like as if you were making ‘la mien’ or shuffling cards. I forgot to mention that he taught us how to shake our bodies too. Sigh…

We finally broke for lunch at 3pm and guess what? We only had 30 minutes to break for lunch at a place crowded with 5000 people!!! What the f%#k!!! Those sadistic idiots just didn’t want us to have lunch!!!

In the afternoon, we were all so spent and tired. It’s just so difficult to follow the speaker. #1, the topic absolutely did not interest me. #2, the speaker does not have the right skills to engage the audience.

More and more people started to leave the hall as the talk dragged on. It’s about making money through the internet! I’m like, hello! I’m not even sure I can enroll in a website thingy successfully without issues. And the speaker was saying he could make me a millionaire through the internet. The topic was just so dry!

During Anthony Robbins’ session, there was not enough seats. But the hall was like, half empty, for the second half of the seminar. I thought my Psychology class in uni was more interesting. Perhaps that’s an unfair comparison. Cos Psychology class was indeed interesting. Maybe I should compare it with media production, which was the more technical module. Or Comparative Politics, which was a dry module. I didn’t think I had that much trouble concentrating when I was in uni.

In the afternoon, I finally couldn’t take it anymore. I suggested going to the John Little sale at Hall 4. So Chum and I went there and we bought lotsa foodstuff. But Chum bought a lot of toiletries too. Things there were really cheap.

Alas, we still had to go back to the seminar. So we went back to the seminar and waited the afternoon away. By 6pm plus, we finally couldn’t take it anymore. Luckily, we were able to leave by then and need not wait till 8pm. Thank goodness!

So we left Sing Expo and Chum and I went to 85 to have ba chor mee (minced meat noodles), chix wings and carrot cake. Haven’t had ba chor mee in a long time and it still tasted soooooo good. After a satisfying meal, we went back home and watched our daily programme on cable. It was a good ending too! What a good evening.

We had a lousy afternoon but a good evening. And now, I’m gonna shower and go chat with my friend in lala land. Goodnight!

The Past Week

Haven’t had the time to blog in a while. Have been out almost every night this week. Had dinner on Wednesday with Chummy, Ling and Nun; Thursday had dinner with Elaine and Amanda and get to see the kids; Friday went out for dinner with Chummy and friends at Paul’s.

Dinner at Glutton’s Bay on Wednesday was so satisfying. Besides the good food, we had lots of fun and laughter. Nun was as usual, telling us her funny stories and we just couldn’t stop laughing. Whenever she’s around, we will have a lot to talk and laugh about. She’s really the life of any gathering. Chum laughed so much she couldn’t stop crying!

Met up with Elaine and Amanda on Thursday. The kids are so cute and Shyann simply can’t let Elaine out of her sight. Even when Elaine wanted to go downstairs to get us some water, she followed right behind her without knowing she was there, Elaine tried to close the door and it hit Shyann on the head. The cry she let out was ear-shattering. But good thing nothing happened to her. She was fine after some cajoling and sweets. Haha…kids will be kids. Unhappiness will evade them after a short while. They will not stay unhappy for long. It’s good to be child-like.

Shane, as usual, was his peaceful and jovial self. He was just happily rolling on the bed, entertaining himself. He’s easy to take care of and doesn’t make much noise. Can’t believe how good-looking he has become since birth. I still remember he looked very dark when he was born and that made him look a bit scrawny, given that he already wasn’t a very big baby. But now the dark skin gives him a ‘man’ look. He’s just so adorable.

Off we went for dinner and Shyann was her active self. So Elaine had to pay her a lot of attention. So I took care of Shane, which was fairly easy cos he just didn’t wanna sit in the pram. So I carried him and he stopped his antics. But things changed just as we were starting to eat. Shane got a little more cranky and refused to be let down. Once we put him in the pram, he’ll start to make noise. Given that Elaine was already taking care of Shyann, I tried my best to humour Shane. But well, it didn’t help. So in the end, Elaine ended up not being able to eat as she had to humour both Shyann and Shane. Shyann got bored after a while and Elaine got the maid to come pick her up. Then she had time for Shane and only after he quietened down did Elaine get the chance to eat her dinner. Perhaps that’s why she lost her weight so quickly. Haha…

Friday’s dinner was such a bitching session. Let’s just put it as the food was good, beer was even better and the company was fantastic. Let’s do it again soon!

And last night, Liverpool won 6-0!!!! It’s just one goal after another. You’ll never walk alone!
