Yet Another Monday

It's yet another wet Monday that makes people feel like staying in and cozying up under the covers with a good book. But alas, no such good fortune for me - stuck in the office with a new RFP that is due tomolo! And this being the first year that we're invited to bid, I have no historical data to 'copy' from and had to do all the groundwork myself. And the stupid template which they forwarded to us is not making it any easier. They specified that we must fill in the date in a certain format and when I did that, they gave me an error message. Piece of shit.
Then I had to clear all the damn sponsorship vouchers and realised that there are quite a few still with me and the client's D&D is pretty damn close. I really need a good secretary. Skinny chum!!!! Why must you leave us in search of some rendang?! How can you bear to leave us behind like that! And then I had to plan for my calls for the entire week and the entire world seems to be on leave. Dammit! Really hate having to plan for my calls. That's like the most irritating aspect of my job. And boss is not around. Which means good and bad for us. Those of us in the office knows what that means. Good thing is, I managed to finish my report for last week. Whew!
I really find my job a drag. Am so not looking forward to the shit I have to clear and listening to all those people complain about this and that. Where in the world did they find so many things to complain about? It's not as if they are shareholders of their company or something. Cut us service people some slack lah! For goodness' sakes! You have a pair of eyes, 1 nose and 1 mouth; and so do we. So what makes you think you are anymore superior than us? You're just a wage-earner. So cut the 'higher than thou' attitude. Just stick it up your ass.
And well, we're losing good people all round cos all of us are so tired. There's just no pleasing the management. When we do better than the last time, more is expected of us. It's like a vicious cycle that sees no end. There's just no pleasing them. Sometimes I wonder why we even bother to work so hard. Guess it's just the responsibility in us speaking. Why do we always bang our heads against the wall when there are no medics to heal us up? There just doesn't seem to be a point. Which is why I admire boss. How can she give her whole life to the damn hotel and still be going strong? She doesn't seem to experience any Monday blues. Power! But I wouldn't wanna be her. Her seat is not as hot as it seems. In fact, I pity her sometimes. Knowing the shit she gies through. That's why I love her to a certain extent and really do miss her when she's not around. She's really like a big mama that keeps order in the household and protects us and keeps us outta harm's way. She can be a real softie with a hard exterior.
Oh well, I'm beginning to feel the jitter of leaving my job. Leave my job I know I will. But having no job and no income is something that worries me cos I've got bills to pay. So I do hope the plan I made with Chum really do come through. Even if it doesn't turn out well, at least we can say we gave it a shot.
Missed Bello today cos she didn't come to work. Was hoping she will. She brings such joy to us. Dunno why but somehow, having her around, the day doesn't seem to drag on so much. She has an aura of joy around her (OMG! did i say aura! -faintz-). Nowadays it's really the people around me that propels me on. Without these people, I think I would have left long ago. And people, you know who you are. Love you all!

Hot Mama's Birthday!

Was clearing my one day's OIL yesterday and it felt so damn good not to have to work when the rest of the world is hard at work. Des and I had a leisurely lunch and shopped around Suntec cos he had to go collect his marathon stuff. Didn't really do much during the day. We just went to shop around and bought grocery cos we wanted to have steak for the weekend. Then Des was craving for oxtail soup so we bought the ingredients for that so I'll cook that on Sunday and we can have that for dinner when we come back from work on Monday.
Then Des had to go attend a wedding dinner and I met up with Amanda and Elaine to celebrate Elaine's birthday. We met and had dinner at a restaurant in Bugis and I must say the service was good and the food not too shabby. The other good thing was the restaurant wasn't too crowded and we sorta had the whole place to ourselves. Although this is not good for the owner,it served our purpose and gave us the chance to enjoy our dinner cos it wasn't too noisy.

And we got a pleasant surprise! Lover was supposed to come back from Australia only December. But she gave us a surprise and walked into the restaurant when we didn'teven know she came back early! We were so surprised to see her walking in and our exclamation showed how much we missed her. Such a nice surprise for my babe's birthday.

Looking at her, would you have guessed she's a mother of 2? I feel so ashamed. She's a mother of 2 and she's so much slimmer than me! It makes the 1kg that I've lost seem not only insignificant, but totally not accounted for.

After the dinner, we went KTV and our men joined us there. Although it was the same way we've always celebrated birthdays, we still enjoyed ourselves and it made for a great gathering.

Then Lover wanted us to sing the yellow polka-dot bikini song and Des actually managed to find it! See how my babes were enjoying themselves singing it!

I'm Back!

I've been missing in action for the past few days and haven't been blogging since. But I'm back now and hope I can remember what happened the past few days so that I can blog them down. Last week I was feeling so out of sort that I didn't do much work. My report was dismal and I was almost afraid to hand it in to Boss. But I think Boss is too busy and engrossed getting ready for HER boss' visit that she doesn't have much time to clam down on us. She even cancelled the morning briefing for Friday and today. And the whole office is upside-down, trying to get ready for THE VISIT. Piece of crap. To think one human being has such control over another human being. But one good thing came out of this. At least when I resign, I can cite the synergy and integration as the reason. Guess this should be a diplomatic enough reason, without offending anyone in the office.
Last Friday we went to Bello's place for dinner and boy was it biased! We've known all the while that we will be having something with beef and cream sauce as the main dish. And Chum and I guessed that we will be having pasta. But little do we know that it was biased! Bello cooked meat balls which Ling wanted to eat! But what about Chum and me???!!! What about our fave food? Ggggrrrhhhh..... How can she do that to us? And she even bought a brand of beer that we dun drink. *faint* But I must say her mushroom soup is very nice. And she made it from scratch! Impressive!
But one thing happened. We were finishing dinner and enjoying our beer, watching "The Sound of Music". And it was getting late and all of us were tired (I even fell asleep at some point) and we realise that Bello's grandma is still not bad from the wedding dinner she went to attend! It was getting late and we were getting worried. By the time we decided to give up on the show, it was close to 2am and Grandma is still not back! We decided to all go downstairs to wait for her. But Bello's sisters were none too concern about Grandma coming back late. Oh, did I mention that her elder sis came back wearing this ultra big specs? Chum and I had our take on it. But I shall not mention it here. Let's not be rude. So off we went to wait for Grandma and it wasn't about 45 minutes later than Grandma came back! Before that, we were hoping that with every cab that stopped by the curb, Grandma will alight. But she didn't. But good thing nothing happened to her and she just lost track of time. And Grandma was so cool. She had an orchid in her hair can!
Then on Saturday, Hubby and I went to CHIJMES to pay the downpayment for our wedding banquet. Then we met up with Chum and we had Pepper Lunch finally! Chum has been pestering me to have Pepper Lunch with her and I simply refused cos it will make us smell and I have to go out for sales call! Then we went to the car showrooms and test drove 2 Lancers. It was quite shiok lor, to just press down on the accelerator without having to be concerned that it will spoil the car. And the sales person was so enthu! Sigh, give her a few more months and her enthu would have worn off. Anyway, we can't make a decision on Saturday cos Chum needs to talk to daddy.
Sunday was MJ day after church. And we finally got the annoucement that RCIA is commencing! Classes wil start in Feb and soon after Hubby and I have to go for MPC. Next year will be a busy year! What with all the courses we have to attend, the new business we have to start and the wedding preparations.
Ah Beng didn't really win many games lor. But the amount of money he made by 'gong-ing' is enough already can! I simply cannot believe it. He gong almost every game can! So irritating!!! Hubby and I just couldn't believe it. Beng and Beng-soh won so much just by that lor. Sigh... I lost more than $100 in the first 2 rounds and was really suay man. But I not only won back the amount, I even managed to win $145 in the last round. The feeling was just damn shiok lor! But then again, I didn't get back anything cos that's the amount Hubby lost. So at the end of the day, we just enjoyed a good day of fun. ;o)
Moved into this week with a good start. Fulfilled my 5 calls today and started to plan my calls for the whole week. It wasn't really too difficullt cos this week is already a short week to begin with and the week is filled with internal activities. So there isn't many calls to plan for cos we had to stay in-house anyway. Oh well, a new week has started and the first day has passed. So there are just 4 more days to go before the weekend again!
