Why Didn't We Stop At One?

Dun get me wrong. It's not that I dun love Dayen, I do. But I'm really so exhausted. I'm hoping this is just a phase we can grow out of. Perhaps when Dayen's slightly older, things might get easier. But at the moment, I'm really not able to be joyful. My moments of happiness and the awww-so-sweet feeling ended with my confinement. Dallen was and still is, a very easy kid to take care of. I guess it's payback time. Many times I find myself not knowing wat to do with Dayen. He's so temperamental and grouchy most of the time. Perhaps it's unfair to say he's a difficult child cos the circumstances surrounding him and his brother are very different. Where there was peace and quiet for Dallen as a baby, Dayen now has to contend with environmental noise as he tries to sleep in Dallen's school. Dallen had our full attention, which means we were more sensitive to his needs and he was able to follow a routine cos we were mostly at home when he was a baby. As for Dayen, there isn't a day when he can sleep properly cos we're out everyday, rushing here and there. How can he find rest then? Sometimes when I look deeper into the situation, I kinda pity Dayen. He's being swept along in the current of our daily lives. No wonder he's so grouchy and impatient! On top of that, both parents are exhausted and his brother, no matter how easy, is still a demanding toddler. Are we able to cope? Will there come a time when we can look back and say this is finally over? Or will we constantly be in this whirlwind, struggling to stay afloat?
