Our Cycling Expedition

Last Sunday was the first time the Chummy-ship went out to cycle. Skinny Chum wanted to go cycling cos of some personal reason which I will not state here. Only the 3 of us shall guard the secret. *rolls eyes*

We didn't get much cycling done, though. It was a wet week and even before we reached Sentosa, it already started to rain. But since we haven't gone out together for a while and it is very seldom that Skinny Chum has a Sunday off. So I decided that we should go ahead with our plans.

So we went on our jolly way to Sentosa, rented a bike and set off. Less than 10 minutes after we set off, it started to pour. So we had to stop our cycling. Actually, throughout the whole day, it rained and stopped several times. We cycled a bit and headed off for dinner; but not before I scrapped my shin against a big rock and Funny Chum slipped and fell.

The Tour de Sentosa started on a dreary note as the weather did not hold up and heavy rain started to fall even before the race began.

Bad weather forced the committee to make the decision of temporarily stopping the race and participants took a break as they waited for the rain to let up.
Ample supplies were seen and the participants took the chance to replenish their fluid intake during the break.
Before long, the rain got lighter and the race continued, only to meet with another thunderstorm. Putting the safety of the participants first, the committee once again had to put a stop to the race.
At the second pit-stop, the participants took the chance to mingle around and appeared to be holding up well despite the foul weather.
Only one of the participants look drained out due to her lack of stamina and less-than-desired physique. Maybe she should consider quitting smoking. A notice will be sent to her soon, hauling her in for a conversation before the panel of discipline committee.
Some of the supporters got tired and made use of the break to catch a forty wink before the race continued. And it is indeed creative that they have decided to use a roll of kitchen towels as a make-shift bolster.
The race continued and at the third pit-stop, the committee decided that resources and time should not be wasted anymore and called the race to a final stop.
Although disappointed at the cancellation of the race mid-way, the participants displayed good sportsmanship and went out for a heart meal together, putting aside their competitive streak.

Like the pot, the day came to a well-rounded end. Although fierce and fury during the race (like the left side of the pot), the participants were able to remain calm and friendly after the race (like the right side of the pot).

Happy National Day!

Dun get mistaken by the title of this blog. I am not a very patriotic person; far from it. I'm just using the mose convenient title cos I'm not exactly flowing with creative juices now.
Haven't blogged for a while cos I've been so lazy. But in the time that I've been absent, a lot has taken place in my life. Hubby and I chose the photos for our wedding album and has selected our gowns and suit; I've tendered my resignation and is now serving my notice and counting down to my last day of service at the hotel; the gals and I met up for dinner to celebrate my birthday; Hubby has been given an alternative to study in Australia instead of just Indonesia.
There's really nothing very exciting happening in my life now. I'm just waiting out my notice period and I'm really dragging myself to work everyday. I have no motivation and work has become a hassle.
But I do recognise that there are lots to be done for the wedding and once I stop work, I have to look into the minute details. Hubby will be very busy in August and it will be a highly stressful month for him. So I've silently volunteered ("silently" cos it's not known to Hubby; just to myself) to take over the matters at home.
To prepare for my 'retirement', I've been buying several books and making a mental list of what needs to be done in and around the house. I really can't wait for August to be over. I'll have time to do what I wanna and needs to be done then!
Hubby and I went to take a look at the final draft of our photo album's artwork. The boss of the bridal studio was sooo nice. He offered to burn a copy of the CD for us before the actual 'handover' of all our photos and album. It'll be another month till we can take back all the photos and our wedding album. That CD will keep me sastisfied for the time being.
